The Executive Learning Network has been approved as an Authorized Provider by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET), 8405 Greensboro Drive, Suite 800, McLean, VA 22102.IACET’s Criteria and Guidelines
for Quality Continuing Education and Training were created by
the National Task Force on Continuing Education in 1968 and are
the standard by which hundreds of organizations measure their
educational offerings.
The primary purpose of the CEU is to provide a permanent record
of the educational accomplishments of an individual who has
completed one or more significant non-credit educational
experiences (see FAQ section). Earning the CEU approved by IACET
also provides a quality indicator of your continuing education
and training because it means that you have been awarded CEU’s
that have been reviewed and approved for complying with
internationally recognized standards.
With a growing number of education providers in the marketplace,
it has become increasingly harder to find quality educational
offerings. When you earn continuing education credits from an
Authorized Provider of IACET, you can be assured that your
educational experience has measured up to the highest CEU
standards in the industry.

FAQs
Q. What is a CEU?
A. The Continuing Education Unit (CEU) is a nationally
recognized, uniform unit of measure used to quantify continuing
education and training activities. One IACET CEU is defined as
ten (10) contact hours of participation in an organized
continuing education experience under responsible sponsorship,
capable direction, and qualified instruction.
Q. Are contact hours and clock hours basically the same thing?
A. Yes. Many agencies, institutions, and licensing boards use
terms like “clock hours”, “seat hours”, “contact hours”, or
“continuing education credit hours” in publicizing their program
or event. For the sake of clarity, Executive Learning Network
publishes not only the CEU’s available but also expresses those
CEU’s in terms of continuing education hours
Q. Who keeps the permanent record of my CEU’s?
A. Executive Learning Network maintains a complete, permanent
(minimum seven years) of each learners participation and can
provide a copy of that record upon request.
Q. Are all CEU’s equal?
A. No. The CEU is only as good as the organization that is
granting it. Executive Learning Network chose to pursue the
rigorous process of earning Approved Provider Status with IACET
because the CEU was created by IACET and they have maintained a
rich history of promoting educational quality. In addition,
IACET’s Criteria and Guidelines are the standard by which
hundreds of organizations measure their educational offerings.
Q: Will other disciplines recognize the IACET CEU and count it
towards fulfilling their certification requirements?
A: In most cases they will as long as the continuing education
experience was structured around the subject area applicable to
that specific discipline.
Many agencies, institutions, and boards offering certification
use IACET guidelines for developing their own requirements so
reciprocity should be possible with those groups.
Q. Can I use my IACET CEU’s for college credit?
A. Acceptance of IACET CEU’s for college credit is at the
discretion of the college or university.
Q. Can you tell us which colleges accept the IACET CEU?
A. Continuing Education Units were originally designed for
professionals who have already attained a certain level of
education and need to take a certain amount of continuing
education and training per year to renew their license or
certification. Some colleges and universities can look at an
individuals portfolio that include work experience and
continuing education and training offerings (measured by CEU’s).
The Council on Adult and Experiential Learning (CAEL) helps
universities set up programs to turn work experience and
continuing education and training activity into college credit.
